Calling all playwrights, writers, poets, rappers, and lyricists aged 16–30. Do you have a passion for writing? Do you have stories you want to tell? Do you want to develop a new play for young adult audiences? If so, Writers LAB is for you.
Writers LAB has been designed to train, develop, and promote the next generation of professional working-class, culturally diverse, Deaf/Disabled, and neurodivergent playwrights in Merseyside.
The programme includes weekly sessions where participants write together as a group, alongside writing homework. You’ll engage in an independent writing process with dramaturgy support, and work towards developing a short play for two people. At the end of the programme, your work will be shared by professional actors in front of an industry and community audience.
Sessions begin on Wednesdays from 5th November 2025 and run for six weeks at Toxteth TV, Liverpool. The final sharing will take place on 15th January 2026 at the Playhouse Studio.
Writers LAB is led by 20 Stories High Artistic Director Keith Saha and supported by award-winning writer and dramaturg Lin Coghlan, with additional support from Liverpool Everyman & Playhouse.
To apply, send up to five pages of your writing to harriet@20storieshigh.org.uk by the deadline of 1st September 2025.
