Artemis Productions are a Liverpool based street theatre company who specialise in walkabout performances. This year they have partnered with Culture Liverpool and the Pagoda Arts Centre to offer a training and performance opportunity as part of the Liverpool Lunar New Year celebrations 2025. They are looking for participants who are interested in learning how to stilt walk using dura stilts and who would be willing to take part in a parade and walkabout performances to welcome in the year of the snake. These performances would be on 25 January 1 February and 2 February 2025. This is a training opportunity and therefore is unpaid, however, participants who want to continue developing their stilt walking performance skills will be considered for paid work with Artemis Productions throughout 2025 when opportunities arise. No previous experience is required just an enthusiasm and commitment to learn a new skill. A general level of fitness and a willingness to perform in public is also desirable. Participants will be required to attend 6 x 2 hour training workshops in order to develop their stilt walking and performance skills. These workshops will take place in a city centre location, dates and times TBC but are likely to include weekends and early evenings in order to accommodate any work commitments.
