New Earth Academy provides FREE specialist training and opportunities in the performing arts for East and South East Asians* (ESEA) aged 18+ resident in the UK. The only programme of its kind in the UK, our courses are designed for those with an interest in developing their performance skills and engagement with live theatre.
New Earth Theatre Makers Academy – Liverpool is a week long full time course for Merseyside based East and South East Asian ESEA artists and creatives who are interested in theatre and creating their own work for live performance. Participants will learn a range of theatre making skills including performing, devising, producing and fundraising so they are equipped to take their creative projects from first idea to final performance.
The theme of the week will be “Making Connections” and participants will learn a variety of devising and physical storytelling techniques to create an ensemble of performers who work collaboratively, creating theatre that connects with audiences across cultures and language barriers.
You will also work with other academy participants on group tasks to develop collaborative theatre making skills and form a supportive peer network. The aim is to support ESEA creatives and artists to develop the skills they need to make their own work.
