As a Major Events Officer, you’ll assist in the planning, delivery, and evaluation of Sefton’s major events portfolio. You’ll collaborate with internal teams, external partners, sponsors, and community groups to ensure events are safe, sustainable, and impactful.
This role will plan, coordinate, and evaluate major events with over 5,000 attendees, ensuring alignment with council objectives. It will be responsible for building and maintaining partnerships with contractors, emergency services, sponsors, and community organisations to foster effective stakeholder engagement. The successful candidate will oversee logistics and compliance, including risk assessments, licensing, budgeting, health and safety, and sustainability practices. The role will also support marketing efforts by working closely with the destination marketing team to promote events and maximise attendance. Problem-solving is key, as the role requires proactively addressing challenges throughout both the planning process and live event delivery.
