Maghull Wind Orchestra (MWO) is a community based symphonic wind orchestra with over one hundred members.
Our 2026 Composition Competition has been introduced to encourage young composers, between the ages of 16 to 25 years old, to enter their composition for consideration. The winning Composition will be performed at a concert in Liverpool Anglican Cathedral later in the year. The deadline for submissions is 20th February 2026. Submission guidelines can be found below:

The orchestra was set up in 1978, and still provides an opportunity for people, “any age, any ability, no audition, no fee”, from across the region, to come along and play music together.
