Sacred Sanctuary is part of BlackFest’s expanded well-being programme, funded by the Reaching Communities National Lottery Grant for 2025–2026. It offers a safe, nurturing space for individuals to connect with their cultural heritage, community, and personal well-being through holistic and creative activities.
What’s included? Movement/Dance therapy, yoga, clay work, printmaking, creative writing, botanical tea making, photography and mch more.
We’re seeking 15 – 20 partcipants ages 18 – 60+ for 10 weeks of workshops starting from Thursday 1 May. This will take place at John Archer Hall, L8 1YR from 10am – 1pm each week.
The project will feature Black and GM holistic arts-based therapists and businesses we aim to revive traditional African and Indigenous botanical knowledge, creating a safe and nurturing space for participants to reconnect with their cultural heritage and educate people from different backgrounds on accessing authentic care practices.
