Support the Director to deliver ‘Southport Clown School’ workshops March to May 2026. Facilitate community participants, liaise with project partners, assist with social media. Develop producing skills, learn clowning approaches, facilitate a public sharing.
The Assistant Producer will support a series of clowning workshops for community participants in the ‘Southport Clown School’ project as part of Southport 2026. This is an opportunity to develop producing and directing skills, and to learn clowning approaches to a point where you can chaperone a small group at the Big Top weekend on 2nd and 3rd May. You will help to manage participant attendance, to promote activities, and document participant experiences.
The course will take place on Thursday evenings and Sundays in March and April 2026 at Southport Market Extravaganza Space, Southport and over the weekend of 2nd and 3rd May during the Big Top weekend in town. By the end of the course, participants should be able to perform a short clown improvisation as a group.
It is not necessary to be available for every workshop. Some time will be allocated to associated tasks e.g. social media updates; venue liaison. Availability on the weekend of 2nd and 3rd May is essential.
