The Scouse Christmas Carol has become the fastest-selling festive show at Liverpool’s Royal Court in 15 years. The first Christmas show at the venue was Merry Ding Dong back in 2010, and every year since then it has created a brand new tinsel-tastic seasonal showstopper.
As the Royal Court has expanded, so has its Christmas capers. This year there are three holly-tastic festive shows, with tickets on sale right now. Yule be sorry if you miss out.

Ha Bumbug!
Jacob Marley is dead and nobody knows who bumped him off. Mary Marley, his missus, is going to track down the killer and she’s got one man in her sights. Scrooge. But how can she make him cough to the crime?
Ebeneezer is a geezer who always quite fancied Mary, but now she’s ghosting him with the help of the Scratchitt family and Mr Kettiwig. Will he learn his lesson? Will Marley be avenged by three little birds? Will Charlie Dicko spin so fast in his grave that a sinkhole opens up? Only one way to find out…
The creative team from last year’s Christmas show are on board and the cast and band are rushing to the Court to sign their contracts. This one is going to be full of all of the jokes and incredible live music that you have come to expect from the city’s biggest Chrimbo celebration.

Stocking Fillers

A show that is as much a part of Christmas as turkey, carols and an inexplicable gift from your auntie, we are delighted to welcome Stocking Fillers back to the Studio! Six brand new ten-minute festive plays to entertain you at the most wonderful time of the year!
A merry mix of comedy and drama, the Stocking Fillers will make you laugh and cry. They might even make you sing and shout. You’ll feel all Christmassy from your head to your mistle-toes.
These short plays have been written by members of the Royal Court’s writing groups and each evening four incredibly talented actors will bring them to life before your very eyes. before your very eyes. Stocking Fillers wraps up six different shows, so there is something for everyone.
So get yourself down to the Royal Court grotto this Christmas and enjoy the show. You’ll be shouting out for myrrh!

It’s A Wonderful Life

Return to Bedford Falls this Christmas when, after a sell out run in 2024, Old Fruit Jar Productions comes back to the Royal Court Studio with this heart-warming adaptation of a classic Christmas story.
Christmas Eve, 1945… George Bailey, a down-on-his-luck banker, believes life has left him behind. But when his guardian angel appears, George is astounded to witness what life could be like without all of the good deeds he’s done. Maybe life wouldn’t be as wonderful without him…
Inspired by the 1946 Frank Capra film of the same name, this enchanting stage adaptation breathes new life into the beloved story of hope, redemption, and the power of kindness!
