The Inclusive Sport and Culture Festival (ISCF) Liverpool 2027 is seeking expressions of interest from disabled people to join our Cultural Advisory Group (CAG).
The CAG will play a vital role in shaping an inclusive and accessible festival experience for artists/participants, audiences, staff, and volunteers. We would welcome applications from individuals, with lived experience of disability, in a freelance capacity and/or representing an organisation.
About the festival:
ISCF is a disability led, multi-art form celebration of sport and creativity, funded by UK Sport, Liverpool City Council and Arts Council England, hosted by Liverpool City Council in Liverpool. Taking place across Liverpool’s venues and public spaces, the festival will showcase world class art, led by D/deaf, disabled and neurodivergent artists integrated with Paralympic sports programming.
Our vision is to create an inclusive and impactful cultural moment, with disability led practice and decision making embedded every step of the way.
About the role:
Members of the CAG will:
- Share lived experience and insights
- Provide advice on accessibility and inclusion
- Help identify barriers and opportunities
- Contribute to meaningful, practical change
- Offer feedback pertaining to the festival’s cultural programme design and delivery
- Support the creative director to promote the cultural programme that integrates sport and culture from artists and athletes from the disabled community.
- Help identify routes for inclusion and participation within and beyond disability communities.
Who we’re looking for:
We will be recruiting members of the Cultural Advisory Group and one chairperson. Please advise in your application whether you would like to also be considered for the chair position.
For all potential members we welcome applications from people with lived experience of disability, including (but not limited to):
- Physical disability
- Sensory disability (Deaf/Hard of Hearing, blind/low vision)
- Neurodivergence
- Chronic illness or pain
- Mental health conditions
- Invisible disability
To be considered for the chairperson position we welcome further information pertaining to:
- Experience in chairing meetings
- Working as the Principal liaison between the cultural advisory group and the creative director
We strongly encourage applications from people who also bring diverse perspectives, including, culturally and linguistically diverse communities, LGBTQIA+ people, Applicants must be 18 years of age or older
You do not need prior advisory group experience to be considered.
Commitment:
- Time: Approximately 8 meetings, plus optional preparation
- Format: Online, in-person in Liverpool city centre location, or hybrid
- Term: June 2026 – September 2027
All meetings and materials will be accessible.
Payment and support:
- Members who are independent freelancers will be paid £125 per meeting (including preparation). Members who are representing an organisation will not be offered payment but reasonable access costs will be covered across the entire CAG.
