After months of development, MusicSeen is proud to announce the official launch of its brand-new Events & Venues Database, designed to make discovering Liverpool’s thriving live music scene easier than ever.

Pulling data from over 8 key ticketing platforms, the new database already lists 700+ events a month, from intimate open mic nights to high-energy club shows and major gigs. With powerful filter options, recurring event tracking, and an interactive map view, the platform offers fans, musicians, and visitors a centralised way to explore what’s happening in Liverpool — entirely for free.

For those who like their gig updates straight to their feed, MusicSeen now runs an automated Instagram page (@Liverpool_Events_Database) that posts a daily list of events happening in the city, every morning — making it even easier to stay in the loop.

This marks a huge milestone for MusicSeen, the grassroots-led cultural platform that’s become a digital hub for Liverpool’s music ecosystem since its public launch in March 2024.

Co-director Connor Di Leo said:

“It’s always been frustrating how scattered event info is. We wanted to create something that not only pulls it together — but actually helps you find what matters to you, fast.”

In addition to scraping listings from major ticketing platforms, the MusicSeen team manually reviewed over 650 venues to identify open mic nights and recurring events, ensuring the listings reflect the full diversity and scale of
what’s going on locally.

The database updates every two weeks, meaning users always have an up-todate picture of the city’s music offerings.

The new Events & Venues database joins MusicSeen’s wider suite of tools, including:

  • Artist Database featuring over 1,500 local musicians
  • New Music & Music Video Trackers spotlighting fresh releases
  • Directories of Professionals, Venues, and Organisations
  • Curated Playlists uplifting underrepresented voices
  • Live Sessions & Shoutouts showcasing the people behind the music
  • Awareness Campaigns & Research Projects supporting cultural
    development

Since its creation, MusicSeen has received backing from the PPL Momentum Accelerator Fund, the Virtual Engineering Centre at the University of Liverpool, and Culture Liverpool. Its team has worked closely with local creatives, students, and researchers to build a platform with and for the Liverpool music community.

Co-director Nina Himmelreich adds:

“This isn’t just a listings page — it’s part of a bigger vision to support Liverpool’s music scene with better visibility, better data, and better access. We’re building the Yellow Pages for local music — and this is just the beginning.”
