Culture Liverpool, Liverpool City Council is proud to announce our new Creative Neighbourhoods programme, Home: A Celebration of Place. As part of this programme, we will be offering funding for the enhancement of existing grassroots, cultural activity throughout Liverpool’s neighbourhoods.
We’re offering grants of £500-£5,000 to support small scale community arts and creative activities or to enhance an existing event or local neighbourhood festival that celebrate and connect communities to their local area. This funding is specifically for organisations with an existing presence within communities throughout the Liverpool local authority area. Activity could include (while not being limited to) artistic projects, workshops, events, exhibitions or other forms of creative engagement. The Home grants will be allocated in 2 tranches. The first is for activity taking place between 10 July – 30 September 2026. A second opportunity will be announced later in the year.

About Home:
This programme celebrates achievement, creativity and community, and invites work that combines visionary ambition with a proven track record of high-quality delivery and meaningful impact. We are looking for activity which inspires joy, pride and collective celebration, while reflecting the unique identity and spirit of your neighbourhood. Proposals must be responsive to and representative of diverse communities, helping to nurture community creativity and cohesion.
We want to see projects that create unforgettable moments – bringing communities together, celebrating identity, and strengthening pride in place. Above all, this programme asks people to explore the question: What makes a place a home?
Please note: The community grants are a city-wide opportunity and are part of Home, a wider programme, which also consists of large scale commissions in designated areas of Liverpool (see here for more information).
Application Scoring:
Applications will be marked on how closely the activity aligns with the values of the Home programme and feasibility of delivery. Activity can take place anywhere within Liverpool’s local authority area.
Eligibility:
This fund is for constituted community groups, clubs, charities and schools; individuals cannot apply to this fund. Groups will need a community or business bank account or be working in partnership with a constituted group that could receive funds on behalf of another. All groups and activity must be located in the city of Liverpool.
Applicants may be working in partnership with other organisations. Collaborative projects are still eligible for this funding although a single organisation will be responsible for receiving the funds and providing monitoring and evaluation.
Please note: We cannot fund religious activity or party-political activity. The grant cannot be used towards alcohol costs. Not-for-profit organisations will take precent and all activity should be offered free or at minimal cost.
All successful applicants will be expected to provide basic monitoring and evaluation.
