Dear readers, writers, and storytellers, schools and pupils are invited to enter the 2023 Short Story Competition.
This competition is part of this year’s Bootle Children’s Literary Festival, hosted by Ykids. The winning story tellers will receive amazing prizes and have their tale collated into a book which will be launched and celebrated at the Literary Festival in November.
The Rules:
- The competition is open to children from 6 to 17 years of age.
- The challenge is to choose a category from: Modern Fairy Tale | Magical Beasts | Scary Beasts | Myths/Legends | Fable
- Write a story with up to 500 words and send it to Ykids – competition@ykids.co.uk – along with a completed entry form by Friday 26 May 2023.
- The stories can be created as a class activity or written independently.
- Children can submit more than one story.
