In this, the 80th anniversary year of the ending of WW2, we are highlighting the diversity of WW2 and the immense contribution made by those from across the globe with the national launch of a bronze statue celebrating the Commonwealth Countries contribution to WW2.

The exhibition is being co-produced by Liverpool John Moores University, the renowned British Muslim artist Mahtab Hussain and the Royal British Legion.
The statue will be the focal point to installations produced by LJMU/Mahtab, and will include art works, audio visual, live performances, and discussion panel events. Central library is a hub for the city and would be the ideal backdrop to this ground breaking artwork and exhibition.

The exhibition is endorsed by Merseyside’s Commonwealth Society and will engage local communities to contribute to the piece. The exhibition will then travel for 12 months nationwide and be featured in several national museums and spaces.
