The Wombat Jazz Festival, the first of its kind in Liverpool, brings together a selection of the best jazz in Liverpool and will debut on Sunday 1 September 2024, at the iconic St George’s Hall.

This ground-breaking festival celebrates jazz as a dynamic and diverse Black art form, nodding to the vibrant culture of Liverpool and the roots of jazz and introducing you to jazz greats of tomorrow.

Look forward to a day filled with epic performances from renowned Liverpool bands, intimate acoustic sets, DJ sets for the two-steppers and a selection of very special one-off performances with ensembles which have been brought together for this occasion. Our line-up includes the legendary Grapes Band with special guest vocalist, Ni Maxine, rising star drummer, Skye Ambrosius and the great, Andrew Ibi, threading the day together with rare vinyl jazz education, plus more to be announced.

The Wombat Jazz Festival provides a platform for both established musicians and emerging talents to share their passion and creativity. Whether you’re a jazz enthusiast or just curious, this festival is your chance to explore the roots and rhythms of jazz and get a taste for what the local scene has to offer.
