This September, Liverpool City Region is taking on the City of Birmingham in ‘This City Moves’, a free six-week step challenge designed to get more people walking, wheeling and exploring their local area.
Through the app, Go Jauntly users can discover, follow and create and share their own walking routes.
The app also provides useful accessibility information, including step-free routes, terrain details and route images to help you plan your jaunt with confidence!

This City Moves
This City Moves is a friendly competition between Liverpool City Region and the City of Birmingham, running for six weeks from 7 September to 18 October. Participants will record their walking activity through the Go Jauntly app, with Liverpool and Birmingham competing to generate the highest number of steps.
The challenge opens for registration on 17 August and remains open for registration until the challenge ends on 18 October.
Micro Grants for Community Groups
As part of ‘This City Moves’ Go Jauntly is offering 15 to 20 micro grants of about £250 each for community groups, small charities, and organisers in Liverpool and Birmingham. The funds help host walking or wheeling events between September 7 and October 18, 2026.
