Gallery 1889 is proud to present an all new collection of original works on canvas by Liam Bononi. The artist’s street art murals are well known in Liverpool, and this body of work represents a new development in his distinctive style, for the first time ever in a solo gallery show.

Bononi’s portraits reflect intense emotions, predominantly introspective or in states of catharsis, delving into the drama of self-discovery and human transformation. The hands take center stage, symbolizing performance and contradiction, representing a dual power capable of both construction and destruction. This intrinsic contradiction in his creations harmonizes with the exploration of psychological transformation.

The fragments in his works symbolize the deconstruction of the past, providing a visual representation of the constant metamorphosis in the human journey.

All are welcome to visit the exhibition launch at Gallery 1889 in Toxteth, 17.00-21.00 on the 12th June.
