Wood-cut is a relief printmaking technique whereby your image is carved into a wooden block leaving a raised design. The design is then inked and printed revealing a distinct wood grain texture and tactile quality in the print.

During this one day session, you will learn the basics of woodcut printing – including how to transfer a design onto wooden blocks, cut, and print, to produce a 2-layered image consisting of a ‘key’ block plus colour layer.

You’ll leave the workshop with a small edition of prints, your original wood blocks and the knowledge to continue the process!
