If you are pawn to be wild, there is a chance to challenge a chess champion at Liverpool’s Williamson Square and Exchange Flags at two free events this summer.
It is part of Celebrating Summer, a programme of free events across the city centre organised by Liverpool Business Improvement District.
On the 26th June, there will be simultaneous displays at Williamson Square, featuring British Chess Grand Master Daniel Gormally and Fide Master Glenn House.
On the 28th June, join qualified chess coaches Dylan Mize and Michael Green for an afternoon of free public chess coaching from 1pm-4pm at Horton House, Exchange Flags.
There will be more than 50 chess boards and sets available for the public to enjoy. Play with family and friends, or simply sit down and meet new people over the board in a fun, relaxed and welcoming atmosphere.
