Liverpool is about to enjoy a city-wide month celebration of the people, projects and creativity that make Liverpool a UNESCO City of Music.
It is backed by a global and national destination marketing campaign to champion everything that is happening in Liverpool in May, mostly music but there are other events as well.
One of them is a Festival of Art in South Liverpool in one of the city’s most historic churches. All Hallows in Allerton with connections to Jesse Hartley who built the famous Royal Albert Dock and the Bibby family, is hosting the show as part of its 150th anniversary.
It will feature work by around twenty local artists – paintings, crafts, and sculpture. Over 80 works will be on show from May 2 -5.
One of the highlights will be the truly stunning stained-glass windows by Edward Burne-Jones and William Morris of Arts and Crafts fame. They are literally world-famous.
You are cordially invited to the Private View evening on Monday, May 4 from 6.00pm to 8.00pm when a small choir will also entertain.
