The Creative Writing, Storytelling and Reading strand of the ‘EuroLearn’ programme was co-ordinated through the Liverpool Learning Partnership. Central to this is a resource pack that focusses on the themes of belonging, welcome, hope, loneliness, celebration and the voice of a child in traditional folk tales and fairy tales.
The lesson plans and resources within look at how these themes are reflected in stories across different cultures, using Ukrainian tales as a starting point, widening to include other Eurovision countries and the cultures represented in Liverpool (including the oratory tradition of storytelling).
The resource pack includes ideas for all age ranges represented in schools and is available to download here.
The Ethnic Minority & Traveller Achievement Service (EMTAS) Liverpool also worked specifically across the Liverpool Schools of Sanctuary to develop a series of short films welcoming other young people to the city.
We’d love to see what Eurovision themed projects and events you got up to, so don’t forget to upload snippets of your activities to showcase and celebrate what you did in your individual settings. To do this, simply complete our activity form here.
