Experience the Sun Like Never Before… Luke Jerram’s Helios at Liverpool Cathedral.

Get ready to bask in the brilliance of Helios, the awe-inspiring illuminated sculpture of the Sun, premiering at Liverpool Cathedral from Friday 4th April to Friday 9th May 2025.

For the first time ever, the UK’s largest Cathedral will host this dazzling masterpiece by world-renowned British artist Luke Jerram, completing the celestial trilogy alongside Museum of the Moon and Gaia.

Prepare to be mesmerised by a breathtaking seven-meter sculpture of the Sun, offering a scale like no other. At 1:200 million, every centimetre of Helios represents 2000km of the Sun’s surface. Witness intricate details like sunspots, spicules, and solar flares—features that are usually millions of miles away!

This isn’t just art—it’s an experience. With a custom surround sound composition blending solar sounds, NASA mission recordings, and uplifting music, you’ll feel connected to the Sun’s power, warmth, and significance.

Liverpool Cathedral is proud to be the first venue in the world to showcase all three of Luke Jerram’s celestial artworks. Helios celebrates the Sun’s life-giving power and its importance to cultures and faiths worldwide.
