Adapted from Nikolai Gogol’s novella, Viy is celebrated for its groundbreaking practical effects and eerie narrative, making it a landmark in Soviet cinema. The film tells the story of a young seminary student who faces terrifying supernatural forces in a remote village, offering a unique blend of horror and dark fantasy.
